Diwali Dinner
The Hindu Cultural Centre every year since its inception has hosted a gala Diwali Dinner to raise funds for the on going renovations and improvements at the Centre. The Dinner is usually scheduled a few days before or after the Diwali Festival. This event is coordinated by the Festival Committee of the Centre along with the enormous support from the Members of the Hindu Community Centre. It has been mostly held at the Komoka Community Centre.
The entertainment is mainly from within the Community as this occasion provides the participants with a sense of belonging and an opportunity to contribute to the betterment of their Centre. The Bal Vikas, Youth group, Music group, Dance Schools and the Dance groups have all volunteered their time and energy at this event every year. The teachers, parents and the coordinators play a huge role in the event’s success.
Many volunteers, from our own Punditji to the Members of the Community, have generously given their time to help with the preparation and the execution of the Programmes during the Function. The Festival Committee comprising of 10 wonderful ladies along with their friends have year after year prepared and served glorious dinners with almost no cost to the Centre.
There have been many renovation projects in the Mandir which have been made possible only by the generous donations from the Hindu Cultural Centre Community. We at the HCC can be proud that we have so far been able to fund all our projects by raising funds from within. God Bless.
